Good morning,
I just wanted to reach out to you again to give a quick review of the Hawk plate carrier I ordered. I've had some time to wear it about and use it while practicing some drills. Right off the bat I have to say that I think the Hawk is probably the most comfortable plate carrier I've ever worn, especially right out of the box. On my plate frame carrier and in other rigs, I've always had to shell out for additional padding, and even then they never quite sat right. The padding in the Hawk is simply excellent, and I have to say I haven't felt uncomfortable moving around or just wearing it, even with a full combat load and heavier plates.
Another excellent feature of the Hawk that I wanted to comment on is the cummerbund. Specifically the more built out or "utility" cummerbund that released as an accessory for the Hawk. While elastic cummerbunds allow for perfect adjustment, it can be hard to reliably mount side plates or additional pouches to them, and they tend to be somewhat fragile if you put too much weight on them. The cummerbund on the Hawk though combines the ability to adjust like an elastic one due to the bungee cord system, but has the rigidity and load bearing capabilities of a fixed cummerbund. Along with the Velcro lining on the inside, these features made mount side plates a breeze, and also allowed my to put an IFAK and some additional GP pouches on the side giving me more storage and load out options, while still allowing the cummerbund to flex based on my movement or posture.
Overall, I think that the Hawk is an excellent plate carrier that combines the light weight, minimal fabric design of a plate frame carrier, the rigid (yet elastic) cummerbund of an IOTV/AVS (I would say the utility cummerbund is the best I've ever used and far better than any comparable cummerbund), and the placard system and ability to mount Velcro pouches and accessories has been implemented flawlessly. The carrier itself is highly modular and can be run as "slick" or fleshed out as the end user wishes. While I have not been a fan in the past of quick release buckles, I think the position of the buckles is excellent and I've had no issues with shouldering a rifle quickly and comfortably. The quality of the materials and craftsmanship is also the best I have ever seen, and definitely worth the price associated with it.
I can say in all honesty that the Hawk is my go to carrier for personal use, and as much professional use as I'm allowed, in pretty much any situation that I can think of. I think the FROG.PRO team did a fantastic job and I really appreciate you working with me on my special order. I look forwards to seeing what other products are developed to further enhance the Hawk and the FROG.PRO line in general.
